Southern Cross University (SCU) is a dynamic learning community recognised for distinctive achievements in teaching and research and for playing a leading role in supporting regional development with an international presence.

SCU has established the Office of Regional Engagement (ORE) as one way for new and efficient partnerships to be facilitated. We hope you will take advantage of this initiative and contact us with your ideas about how our staff and students at the University's three regional campuses   - in Lismore, Coffs Harbour and our Tweed Gold Coast campus can best meet your needs.

The University has strong links with its regional community. It nurtures a deliberate culture of mutually active and robust collaboration. Through these locally based partnerships the University aims to secure the economic prosperity, socio-cultural well-being and environmental sustainability of the region.

There are new ways to think about and conduct relationships between the University and its regional communities. We may be able to assist with specific research, offer student internships, document your successes as case studies for our teaching, encourage volunteer service, offer training programs for your staff or community groups.

The Office of Regional Engagement team works across the whole University and is represented at each campus. We encourage a whole of University approach to increased visitation to campuses, uses of amenities and hosting events.

We act as a dedicated whole of University clearing house of information and communication maintaining contact with regional agencies to ensure staff and students can take advantage of opportunities to value add to teaching, research and service experiences.

We work to the University's Strategic Plan to ensure SCU takes a constructive role in the intellectual, economic, environmental, social and cultural development of our region.
